The Bat-Man.jpg

Did you know that after Orson Welles completed "Citizen Kane," he began production work on his adaptation of DC Comics' Batman?
He looked to casting Gregory Peck in the lead role. James Cagney would be the Riddler, Basil Rathbone would play the Joker and Marlene Dietrich would fill the role of Catwoman. An outline of the script, costume designs, and storyboards were completed before RKO pictures pulled the plug. Comic book writer Mark Millar broke this story in a column that he wrote in the 1990s. Later on, Millar confessed that the whole thing was a good-natured hoax.
I, like many others, was intrigued by the idea.
Here is my take on what the movie poster might have looked like.
